Our Vision

“Practical and Useful Small Business Advice at a Price Every Startup Can Afford”

Our publications do not intend to be your typical business books.

Most business books try to answer one particular (and quite important, I
agree) question: WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  • What you need to do to set up a business
  • What you need to do to keep your clients happy
  • What you need to do to have a steady cash flow

and so on…

However, they miss one extremely important thing. They rarely tell you HOW TO DO IT.

When you are only starting out or trying to learn something new you usually do not have enough knowledge or experience to fully avail of the WHAT TO DO advice.

You can absorb the information but there is nothing you can do with it. You try but because of your lack of experience, you quite often misinterpret it and make serious mistakes.

It is when you have learnt more about your business that you suddenly know what you were supposed to do.

The only problem is it is usually too late by then.

At Smart Business Guides I aim to fill that gap and producing useful and practical guides for newcomers in business. Most of all, I want my products to be available at a price even the smallest startup can afford. From our books, courses, magazines and other publications you will be able to learn what you need to do to start a successful business but we will also show you how to do it.

There is a reason why I call our publications Guides. We guide our readers through every step of starting and establishing their businesses. Theoretical parts of our guides give you all the knowledge they need to start, the practical parts show you each step required to put all this information in practice.

Why I do this?

Let me tell you a story how I got here.

I started my first business in 1998. I had to close it a year later.Because of my lack of business knowledge, preparation and due to many mistakes I have made, I turned my business into a failure.

But it didn’t have to be like that. Had I only knew the basics of how I was supposed to run a business, my small record label would survive.

I dusted off though, gained experience over the next few years and started another company. This time I was more aware of the potential mistakes I could have made, and I succeeded.

And, I was lucky. I met some wonderful people on my way who have helped me, corrected me, showed me how to do certain things, corrected me many more times and ultimately, helped me to grow my business from a freelance operation to a small company.

Today, I want to help the others, people like me back then, people who are only starting out and need advice, help and someone to show them how to run a business.

Smart Business Guides is my way of giving back what I received years ago from those few wonderful business mentors I had a privilege of working with.
